Sneaq HQ · Case file: your data

Privacy Policy

Effective 14 July 2026 · Applies to the Sneaq mobile app and sneaq.app

Sneaq is a social quiz game built for families and friends. We designed it to collect as little personal information as possible — this policy explains, in plain English, what we collect, why, and what your rights are.

Who we are

Sneaq is operated by its independent developer (the "we" in this policy), based in the United Kingdom. For anything privacy-related, contact post@sneaq.app.

What we collect

That's the list. We don't collect location, contacts, photos, browsing history, or advertising identifiers, and the app contains no free-text chat.

Children

Children never hold Sneaq accounts. Accounts are for adults (18+). A child plays only through a managed profile: a username and preset avatar created inside a parent or guardian's account, operated entirely on the child's behalf on that adult's device. A managed profile has no login, no email, no password, and no contact details, and we hold no personal information about the child beyond the username the adult chose. Managed profiles never accrue lifetime statistics, and they are visible only to players in games their adult chooses to join.

How we use your information

We do not sell your data. We do not use it for advertising. We don't send marketing emails.

Legal bases (UK GDPR): performance of a contract (running the game you've asked to play) and legitimate interests (service security and troubleshooting).

Advertising — not yet, and we'll tell you first

Sneaq currently shows no ads. If we introduce them in future, we will update this policy first, ask for any consent the law requires, and design ad experiences with children's safety rules in mind.

Who processes data for us

Sneaq runs on a small set of service providers, acting on our instructions:

How long we keep things

We keep your account data while your account exists. Finished games are retained so groups can revisit results and rematch. If you delete your account, your personal details are removed; within any games you played, you become an anonymous "departed player" so other players' games and scores still make sense.

Delete your account

You can delete your Sneaq account at any time from inside the app: open your profile, go to Account, and tap Delete account. Deletion is immediate and permanent. Your email, display name and avatar are removed; as described above, you become an anonymous "departed player" in any finished games so other players' results still make sense. Managed (child) profiles are deleted with the account that owns them.

If you can't get into the app, you can instead email post@sneaq.app from the address you signed up with, with the subject "Delete my account", and we'll complete it within one month (usually much faster).

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you can ask us to: access the data we hold about you, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to processing, or export it. Email post@sneaq.app and we'll respond within one month. You can also complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).

Security

All data travels encrypted (HTTPS), passwords are hashed, and access to game data is enforced at the database level so players can only ever see what the game's rules allow them to see — keeping secrets is rather the point of Sneaq.

Changes

If this policy changes materially, we'll update the date above and flag it in the app. The current version always lives at sneaq.app/privacy.
